I want to show with this card how Christmas by his warmth embraces us. First I sketch with pencil on paper, looking for concrete ideas and composition. Quickly came to a Santa Claus who embraces the Christmas tree. Both together with a heart. The heart of Santa Claus.
I wanted to use a technique that shows the different materials. Was much experimentation, first sawed the figures from wooden plate, over it, rope, paint, add new elements, tooth brush, branches, toothpicks, buttons. Too much material was not good, the technique should reinforce the idea, while remaining simple. Nothing is as difficult as simplicity.
