Ideas do not always come when ever you need them. There are creative techniques to find solutions and to apply it in companies, to innovate products or services and by creating images. New ideas are the basis of innovation.

Everyone is creative but impulses can help us to get an idea.

1. GATHER INFORMATION
When you know a lot about a topic on which you are looking for ideas, the easier it is to understand the essence.
Gather information on the topic from a broad perspective, from different angles. For example, if the theme is spring, look at it from a meteorological perspective, biology (animals and plants), but also from a cultural perspective, (celebrations and traditions), and how other arts deal with it, the visual arts, music, literature, find the etymological sense of spring, and why not see spring from a culinary point of view.
It is also interesting to look at the word on the Internet in several languages, there will appear other information and other images.

2.- LOOK FOR CREATIVE OR VISUAL STIMULUS
Art, artwork, projects, names, ideas from other persons can be the raw materials for your creativity, search for creative or visual stimulus. Analyze, consider how they can contribute to the idea that you are looking for.

3.- ASSOCIATE, FIND RELATIONSHIPS AND CONNECTIONS
Analyze concepts, mix the information in a disorderly manner, combine elements that have a relationship, or just have nothing in common. Associate, find relationships and connections. Use the knowledge of a particular area and apply it to a whole other area.

4.- REMEMBER CRAZY IDEAS
Use your imagination like you are a child. Consider free crazy ideas, away from the incumbent. “How barks a plate?” Try to break boundaries, think impossible or unrealistic business. Leonardo da Vinci designed silly, strange ideas in his time, he dreamed about airplanes and submarines. Four centuries later, is that our reality

5.- ANALYSE THE THEME FROM DIFFERENT ANGLES
Imagine a situation where several people are involved.
For example: an old woman of 80 years is waiting for the bus with an unknown young man of about twenty years. Two children playing with a ball near the road. The bus is coming, the ball suddenly goes toward the road, and the driver has to brake suddenly.
Analyze the different views, thoughts of the persons involved. What thinks the driver of the bus? What do the passengers on the bus? What would think the mothers of the children? What does the old lady and the young man think at the bus stop. It’s weird how one and the same situation can be interpreted in many different ways. When you view your creative problem from different perspectives it can change completely.

6.- RESTATE YOUR MESSAGE
Play with language, find synonyms, play with the words in the sentence, and put them in different order. Restate your message. Create metaphors, surprising new ideas can appear.

7.- STUDY THE MECHANISMS OF NATURE
If something is in perfect balance, often with perfect solutions, we can find it in nature. Why do we inspire us not on them, we can try to copy it or to recreate it. Learning from the mechanisms of nature. For example, in the creation of Velcro, you can see how thistles stick to the skin of animals.

8.- IMAGINE YOURSELF NEW QUESTIONS
Ask new questions on the same theme offers new opportunities to answer.

“Often the mere approach to a problem is much more important than the solution, which has only an experimental or a mathematical character. Asking new questions, looking for new opportunities, look at old problems from a new angle are things that need the imagination and gives a real advance in science”. (Einstein)

9.- DISCUSS YOUR IDEAS WITH OTHERS
Do not be afraid of criticism. A conversation helps you to think, to ask, to set priorities. It helps you to leave your own mindset and different to see things from a different perspective, a fresh new look. Discuss your ideas with others.

10. FORGET ISSUES
Let it, such as a mass of bread, maturing and rise in the refrigerator. Forget the theme. There comes a time when the brains unite relationships and elements and this will lead you to an idea. The idea will come. It comes often unexpectedly and as if by magic.

Practice, play with these techniques. Rest and time are needed to control them. Many succes with it.
